Effective solar park security requires a phased approach addressing the distinct challenges of construction and operational periods. During construction, when equipment and materials are most exposed, man-heavy guarding provides essential protection. As installation progresses, physical barriers combined with electronic surveillance create the cost-effective long-term solution.

The construction phase presents particular vulnerabilities. Expensive solar panels, inverters, and battery storage systems arrive on site. Copper cabling—the primary target for organised thieves—sits in the open before burial. Heavy plant machinery is left unattended overnight. Our security officers maintain continuous presence, controlling access, conducting regular patrols, and preventing opportunistic or planned theft.

Once construction is complete, permanent perimeter fencing forms the primary barrier. We supply and install deer-proof mesh on timber stakes for general boundaries, with galvanised steel palisade fencing up to 3 metres high protecting sensitive infrastructure including PV arrays, inverters, and substations. These robust barriers satisfy insurance requirements whilst providing effective physical deterrence.

Electronic surveillance complements physical barriers for comprehensive protection. Thermal cameras capable of distinguishing human from animal intrusion operate effectively in darkness, fog, and adverse weather conditions.
